Rukmini Dwadashi 2025: The appearance day of Devi Rukmini is observed every year during the 12th day (Dwadashi tithi) of Shukla Paksha in Vaishakh month. Rukmini Devi, the first among Lord Krishna's 16,108 queens in Sri Dwarika Dham, participates in His eternal pastimes as Dwarakadheesh. Devotees worship her as the supreme goddess of fortune, Maha-Lakshmi, as they worship Krishna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. In Hinduism, individuals worship Rukmini as the goddess of luck and mostly worship her with her divine consort, Lord Krishna. Considered an avatar of Lakshmi, Rukmini is Krishna's primary and most beloved consort. Her divine persona features in most holy scriptures such as the Gopala Tapani Upanishad, Garga Samhita, Bhagavata Purana, Brahma Vaivarta Purana, and Harivamsha. The Mahabharata prominently features her in the Adi Parva and Mausala Parva, while the work Rukminisha Vijaya tells us about her life prior to and until her marriage with Krishna.
The devotees of western and southern Indian states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala hold Rukmini in great reverence. She is worshipped in Pandharpur as "Rakhumai" together with Vithoba, who is a manifestation of Krishna. Some Divya Desam temples worship her as the principal deity, whereas others worship her together with Satyabhama, commemorating their mutual love for Lord Krishna.
