Several videos circulating online appear to show Argentina fans throwing beer cans towards Egypt supporters and hurling abuses after the final whistle. The incident has triggered massive backlash, especially as similar allegations involving Argentine supporters emerged after their previous knockout victory against Cape Verde.

Argentina's Controversial Comeback Against Egypt

The Round of 16 clash between Argentina and Egypt will be remembered for much more than the scoreline. Egypt stunned the South American giants by taking a 2-0 lead before Lionel Messi inspired a remarkable comeback as Argentina eventually secured a dramatic 3-2 victory.

The match itself was filled with controversy. Messi missed from the penalty spot for the fourth time in FIFA World Cup history, while several refereeing decisions left Egypt players and supporters furious. After the match, Egypt defender Mohamed Abdelmonem even alleged that the FIFA World Cup 2026 was "fixed," a statement that quickly went viral across social media. However, the controversy did not end on the pitch.

Argentina Fans Throw Beer Cans At Egypt Supporters

Shortly after Argentina completed the comeback, multiple videos surfaced online allegedly showing a section of Argentina supporters throwing beer cans and other objects towards Egypt fans inside the stadium. Some clips also appear to capture abusive chants directed at the Egyptian supporters as celebrations turned chaotic.

The videos have spread rapidly across X, Instagram and other social media platforms, with many football fans condemning the behaviour. As of now, neither FIFA nor local authorities have publicly commented on the viral footage, and it remains unclear whether any disciplinary action will follow.

Not The First Time Argentina Fans Have Been Accused

Interestingly, this is not the first such incident involving Argentina supporters during the FIFA World Cup 2026. Following Argentina's dramatic Round of 32 victory over Cape Verde, videos had also surfaced online showing some fans allegedly throwing objects towards Cape Verde supporters during the post-match celebrations.

Although no major action was reported after that incident, the latest videos have once again raised concerns over fan behaviour and security inside World Cup venues. Many supporters on social media have urged FIFA to investigate the matter if the authenticity of the clips is verified.

Argentina's Road To The FIFA World Cup 2026 Final
