After a disappointing 2023 season PV Sindhu, who started with three successive first-round defeats, was seen making a promising improvement, showing great signs as the 2019 world hampion made it to the semi-finals in the previous two BWF events – the Arctic Open and the Denmark Open.

PV Sindhu will be the only Indian competing in the women’s singles event in Rennes.

World No. 1 men’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are the defending champions in men’s doubles. They had a great outing in the recently concluded Asian Games 2023 in China as they ended up winning a gold medal in men's doubles to contribute to India's historic campaign.

They will be aiming for more success after missing out on the Denmark Open.

Commonwealth Games champion Lakshya Sen and former world No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth will lead India’s challenge in men’s singles in the absence of the injured HS Prannoy.

While India will not be competing in the mixed doubles, Rutuparna Panda-Swetaparna Panda will be putting up the challenges in the women’s doubles category.
