JE Technology Desk: As the world is observing AI Appreciation Day today, we have some good news if you are looking to make this day memorable and upscale your AI knowledge. Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education and Skill Development, launched the 'AI for India 2.0' initiative, a free training course on artificial intelligence, on World Youth Skills Day, PIB said in a press release.
The programme is a joint endeavour of GUVI (Grab Ur Vernacular Imprint), an IIT Madras and IIM Ahmedabad incubated ed-tech company and Skill India that aims to educate students in vernacular languages. This Python course is available in nine languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and more. It aims at skilling the youth (such as college students, fresh graduates and early professionals) on AI and ML (machine learning) for a "better tech career" in future, according to GUVI.
Citing this as a good beginning towards curbing the language barrier, Pradhan advocated that technology should not be a prisoner of language and called for more tech courses in Indian speech. This will help in "future-proofing the Yuva Shakti," especially the ones in rural pockets, he added. While highlighting the success tale of digital payments in India, the minister said the country has a tech-savvy population.
