JE Technology Desk: We have been hearing about Google and Microsoft competing against each other in the AI verse, and it seems Apple is also planning to enter this space. According to Bloomberg, the Cupertino-based tech giant is working on AI products comparable to Bard and OpenAI's ChatGPT.

This update heaped the tech giant's share up by 2 per cent. According to the report, Ajax (Apple's in-house framework) will help the company build large language models (LLMs). The company is also testing what the sources call "Apple GPT", a ChatGPT-like tool.

The iPhone maker has been silent on the ongoing AI innovations in the tech world, and its WWDC 2023 event was also deficient in AI announcements. However, when it comes to Google, the Google I/O event can be labelled AI-centric from head to toe.

Apple added AI deep inside apps such as Apple Photos and its flagship Vision Pro headset. But this is still far behind the furious integrations by Microsoft and others. Siri, the tech giant's AI voice assistant that competes with Google Assistant in the tech world, has also not witnessed massive upgrades for a long time.

Apple GPT: What it can do?

The tech giant's virtual assistant can respond to questions and summarise texts based on the trained data. The involved workforce states it functions in a similar fashion as ChatGPT and Bard and works as a web app.

However, the report added that Apple does not have solid use case plans at the moment. But Apple may announce some of these plans next year, the report notes.
