iPhone 16 Leaks: Apple will likely unveil the iPhone 16 series this year in September. The vanilla model in the lineup will likely boast several changes under the hood and alfresco. One of these could be a rumoured vertical camera array, a speculation supported by TechNetBook via the leaked mobile cases of the iPhone 16.

Besides the iPhone X-like camera placement, the report added the vanilla model could get an Action button and a new 'Capture' button, which could be touch-sensitive. Apple iPhone 16: What To Expect

Design: Apple may adopt a pill-shaped camera module for the iPhone 16. The vertical alignment could allow Spatial Video recording on the vanilla iPhone for the Apple Vision Pro. Inside the back panel, the phone could have a bigger 3,561mAh battery.

Display: The OLED screen of the vanilla handset could use micro-lens technology for better efficiency and increased brightness, according to MacRumors. While iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max may offer slimmer borders than their predecessors, upgrades in iPhone 16's display may include a faster 120Hz refresh rate.

Processor: Apple may use an A18 chipset (or a variant of the A17) for the iPhone 16. While not confirmed, the base model should support most Apple Intelligence features. For better heat dissipation, the smartphone may have a graphene thermal system. Plus, the RAM may increase from 6GB to 8GB on the iPhone 16 for better performance.

Two New Buttons: Apart from the Action button (currently available on the iPhone 15 Pro models) that may replace the Mute Switch, reports claim Apple could add a Capture button for quick camera access, shooting videos and pictures, enhanced zoom and focus controls on the iPhone 16.

Other Tweaks: Speaking of other minor updates, the iPhone 16 may sport slimmer MagSafe magnets, a Snapdragon X75 modem for better 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6E and an improved mic for a better conversation experience with Siri. The voice assistant awaits an AI-powered revamp with iOS 18. Plus, more Apple Intelligence features like image and text generation may be available on the iPhone 16.

iPhone 16 Launch Date, Price Announcement Expected In September

The iPhone 16 series is rumoured to launch in India in September 2024. PhoneArena speculates the announcement date could be September 10. For context, the iPhone 15 series debuted on September 12, 2023. It may start from $799. TF Securities Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests the smartphone could arrive in Black, Green, Pink, Blue and White colours. However, readers should note that Apple has not confirmed any of these details and these must be grasped with a pinch of salt.
