Apple Foldable iPhone: We might just get to see a foldable phone by Apple by the second half of 2026, according to a report. This purported foldable by Apple will sport a folding OLED panel which will be developed by Samsung Display a subsidiary of its its core competitor Samsung, as the Korean tech giant has reportedly managed to decrease the creasing that foldable phones are infamously known for. How many units of this supposed foldable phone will be produced by Apple is still not known, but you can expect a hefty price tag on this one. This foldable will land in the market and will stand in direct competition with other devices in this segment like Oppo, Samsung, OnePlus, Huawei, Vivo and Honor.
Less Creasing Achieved?
According to a report from BusinessKorea, Apple is going to make use of OLED panels exclusively made by Samsung Display for its first foldable iPhone. The South Korean tech giant has been successful in reducing the creasing that is quite evident on the inner display of foldable phones. This is the main reason why Apple has picked Samsung Display and not its rivals LG Display and BOE (Jingdongfang) for sourcing OLED panels.

If reports are to be believed then the first foldable iPhone will have a 5.5-inch cover display and a 7.8-inch inner screen. The production of these OLED panels will commence either by the end of 2025 or early 2026, and we can expect the foldable to come out next year.
According to the publication, Apple can produce up to 15 million units of the foldable iPhone which is 6 million units more than what was previously anticipated by the tech giant.
A recent report indicates that Apple plans to equip its foldable iPhone with an "almost" 4:3 aspect ratio, similar to that of its standard iPad models—the iPad Air and iPad Pro. This move could help the company ensure software compatibility for its first-generation foldable.
A Hefty Price To Pay
You can expect the first foldable iPhone to burn a hole in your pocket, and it could also beat the pricing of Apple's most expensive smartphone to date the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The pricing for the foldable iPhone could reach somewhere around $2300 in the US which roughly translates to Rs 1,97,000, which roughly lines up with previous claims of how the handset would be priced. The previous claims put the price tag somewhere between $2000 (Rs. 1,71,400) and $2500 (Approx Rs. 2,14,200).
For now, we just have reports, leaks and rumours that have told us about the foldable iPhone and nothing official has been revealed as of now, so keep following us at Jagran English as we bring you the latest deets on this device and much more.
