Samsung One UI 7 UpdateThe Samsung One UI 7 update had already been delayed for many devices for quite some sometime and now we have news of Samsung officially pausing the global rollout of this highly-anticipated update which comes just a few days after it was officially rolled out.

This One UI 7 update is based on Android 15, and previous years' flagship devices were the ones which were supposed to get this update first, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and a few A series devices as well.

As per Android Authority, the delay was confirmed by the Korean smartphone maker in its Korean community forums. The company has given the explanation that the delay was due to maintenance issues that have been since taken care of and users can expect the update to rollout shortly.

Why Did The Update Stop?

While there is no detailed explanation by the Korean tech giant on what caused this delay, user reports, particularly from South Korea, point towards a major bug that might have been the issue.

There were reports from some Galaxy S24 users that they were unable to unlock their devices after the update was installed. The issue was first highlighted by leaker Ice Universe and it gained much traction after they shared the news on X (Twitter), claiming that a bug was responsible for this issue, and prompted Samsung to halt the update from its servers globally.

The leaker, in a follow-up post, also revealed that the issue was big enough for Samsung to halt a global rollout in all countries, including China. Similar discussions took place on Samsung's Korean community servers.

“The reason for the delay in the Galaxy S24 push is that users of the official version of One UI7 of the Korean S24 series found that "they could not be unlocked normally in some cases,” the user wrote.

“Samsung urgently reviewed the firmware withdrawal in other countries. Have you ever encountered a bug where your Galaxy phone occasionally cannot be unlocked?” They added.

The leaker's X account also claimed that the rollout would begin on April 15.

The update is currently removed from Samsung's servers, according to The Verge, and previous firmware versions are once again being shown as the latest.

When Will India Finally Receive The Update?

April 7 marked the day when Samsung began rolling out its One UI 7 update in South Korea initially, followed by Europe, the US and Canada.

India saw the update rolled out in phases, but it was still not available to many eligible users before the tech giant halted its rollout. Currently, it's still not clear if or when the users in India will see the update. It is expected that Samsung will soon resume the rollout.
