MediaTek appears to be quietly adding two new chipsets to its lineup, the Dimensity 7450 and Dimensity 7450X, without a formal announcement yet. Even so, both processors are already listed on the company’s website, giving a full look at their specifications.

Both chipsets are built on a 4nm process, which should help with efficiency and performance. They use an octa-core design that includes four high-performance Arm Cortex-A78 cores clocked up to 2.6GHz, along with four power-efficient Arm Cortex-A55 cores. This setup is meant to balance speed with battery life for everyday use.

In terms of connectivity, the Dimensity 7450 series supports modern 5G standards based on 3GPP Release 17. You also get Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4, along with support for multiple navigation systems like GPS, NavIC, Galileo, and others, which should improve location accuracy across different regions.

AI and gaming performance also get some attention here. The chipsets include MediaTek’s sixth-generation NPU, which is said to deliver around a 7 percent improvement in AI tasks compared to earlier models. They also make use of MediaTek HyperEngine to enhance gaming performance and responsiveness.

The Dimensity 7450 and 7450X are mostly similar, but the 7450X is designed specifically for foldable phones. It supports dual screens, which makes it ideal for flip-style handsets. This chipset is supposed to be used in an upcoming Motorola foldable phone, probably the next Razr phone.

As far as cameras go, both the chips can support sensors with up to 200MP resolutions and have the ability to capture videos at 4K resolution at 30 FPS. Additionally, both feature HDR videos, noise reduction, AI tuning, and electronic image stabilization technology.

With respect to gaming, both chips have an Arm Mali-G615 MC2 GPU, which handles the most popular video formats and high frame rates. Products based on these silicon chips support up to 120Hz at WFHD+ and 144Hz at Full HD+ display refresh rates.

In summary, the two chips are identical with respect to specifications, but the Dimensity 7450X is better suited for foldable phones.
