FromSoftware has now made the official announcement of the major expansion, called The Forsaken Hollows, for Elden Ring: Nightreign; it is set to release on December 4, 2025. A cinematic trailer was also dropped by the studio, which gave a chilling glimpse into the eerie landscapes of Limveld and new dangers waiting for the Nightfarers.

The expansion builds upon Elden Ring Nightreign's cooperative action-survival experience, with new playable characters, powerful enemies, and a dynamic new map condition entitled Shifting Earth. This feature of the map actually changes the geography of Limgrave in real time, exposing ruins, sacred towers, and crystal formations spewing out a deadly miasma. Players will be facing two new third-day bosses, alongside new field bosses across the transformed landscape.

Other new playable characters include the Scholar – a more academic archetype, excelling in both Arcanist abilities and observational-based tactics in battle – and the Undertaker, a faith-based melee combatant crafted for close-quarters combat. These additions aim to expand the game's strategic depth and cooperative play options.

The DLC also adds a pair of new Limveld points of interest, including The Great Hollow, a sprawling underground location filled with ancient relics and environmental hazards. In a push for early purchases, players who pre-order The Forsaken Hollows will be given a digital artbook and a mini soundtrack.

FromSoftware has confirmed the DLC will be made available across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Anyone who previously purchased the Collector’s Edition or Deluxe Edition of Elden Ring Nightreign will receive access to the DLC at no extra cost.

Additionally, the already sold "Deluxe Upgrade Pack" will be officially known as The Forsaken Hollows DLC starting from November 12, and the developer has called upon players to avoid making duplicate purchases once the change goes into effect.
