X, formerly known as Twitter, which was recently rebranded by an Elon Musk-led company, has now taken over the @x handle for the company on the micro-blogging platform, without compensating or warning its original owner. The company has created an account with the username X, and now the x.com URL also redirects the users to micro-blogging platforms.
According to sources cited by TechCrunch, the owner of the @x Twitter handle verified that the business had taken control of the account and informed him that the handle now belongs to X.Gene X Hwang of Orange Photography, a corporate photography and videography firm, had previously owned the account.
In a letter, the business expressed its gratitude to Hwang for his loyalty and extended an invitation for him to visit the X headquarters as a "reflection of our appreciation." Hwang was shocked that the business had not been in touch with him over the @x account he had created and made private.
What Will Happen To The Owner’s Account?
He did, however, say that if the business wanted the handle for themselves, he would be open to a discussion with them. According to Hwang, X sent him a letter alerting him that the @x account is associated with X Corporation and that he will receive a new handle. The business claimed that all of his information, including information about his followers and followers, will be moved to his new account.

"It would have been nice for them to compensate for it since it did have a lot of value to me, but things are what they are," Hwang told TechCrunch.
"Maybe I should ask for the bird from the sign since they were dismantling that yesterday too," he joked.
Meanwhile, Musk has revealed the reason behind rebranding Twitter as X. According to a post on X, Elon Musk believes that the site has evolved significantly and that the term Twitter made sense when users could only tweet 140 characters.
