The Google Pixel 10 has been well-reviewed for its speed, camera improvements, and attractive design. But the flagship phone now has some users up in arms over a niggling issue — a fuzzy display bug whose effect resembles that of an old TV that is not receiving good signal, except with colours.

The Fuzzy Display Issue Explained

It reportedly shows random light flickering, coloured dots and ghost buttons. For certain users the problem becomes an obstacle for successful interaction with their phone, as the touch feedback is inconsistent. Not everyone who owns a Pixel 10 is having this issue, but enough people are that it’s piqued the interest of Google.

Google’s Quick Response

Google published a hotfix in September 2025 after user dissatisfaction.- This was then followed by another update released in October 2025 that also brought along some system patches to resolve fuzzy display problems as well. Numerous users say that these updates helped to mitigate the issue however not all were so fortunate.

Users Still Experiencing Display Glitches

Despite the patches in place, problem reports remain from some users on r/GooglePixel. One user over on Reddit, KJ9712 claimed that problems with ghost buttons and touch issues are still present in the software as well as some occasional fuzzy patterns displayed by the screen after updating to October patch. Another user also said that they see static lines even on the latest update.

Temporary Fixes and User Workarounds

For the time being, doing a hard reboot appears to be a temporary fix for those affected. When we reboot the device it clears things up for a bit but then, over time, we get back into this state. And that can cause an annoyance for users who have come to expect first-rate reliability from Google’s top smartphone.

Is It a Widespread Problem?

It’s not yet clear how many Pixel 10 units have been affected by the issue. There are not that many reports compared to the overall number that have been sold, so it may be a small hardware fault. But as the reports multiply on social media, more might become known of its extent.

What to Expect Next from Google

With Google having a history of responding quickly to concerns about its Pixels through software releases, it shouldn't be long before we see another piece of firmware or a workaround rolled out that will eliminate the fuzzy display bug completely when in dark mode. Pixel customers are also urged to make sure that they have updated their devices to the latest version available, as the most recent fixes and performance enhancements will be included.

The Google Pixel 10 is a masterful and cutting-edge device, but just like any new smartphone, there’s also the possibility that early bugs can sometimes sneak through. Now that Google has provided “day zero” support since Lollipop, expect much smoother results soon!
