WHILE media reports have been highlighting the debut of the highly anticipated Pixel Fold at the Google I/O 2023 event, one product that remains under wraps is the Google Pixel Watch 2. Well, not anymore, as 9To5Google, citing a source, has announced that the wearable from Google will launch this year.
As per the source, the Pixel Watch 2 (that might witness a slight change of name) could debut with the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. If this turns out true, the world could see the second iteration of the Pixel Watch somewhere in October.
Furthermore, the report speculates a 4nm Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 could power the upcoming wearable series. The latest Pixel Watch was teased at the I/O event last year. After months of the debut, it has proved to be a decent investment for buyers Considering the track record, Google might give us a sneak peek into the upcoming watch at the Google I/O event.
The Watch 2 will likely debut with a faster and an efficient chip, similar to most upcoming smartwatch iterations. Google could aim for over 24-hour battery life. Speaking of UI interface, the platform speculates it could pack Wear OS with Material You and Dynamic Colour.
It could sport "pre-second heart rate" monitoring, the report adds. The Pixel Watch 2 will likely come with a round dial design with comparatively thinner bezels.

The Pixel Watch has an AMOLED screen with a peak brightness of up to 1000 nits. It bundles Always-on functionality and is protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass. Under the hood, it comes with an Exynos 9110 SoC and Wear OS 3.5. The Pixel Watch is compatible with Android 8 and above versions. It draws power from the 294mAh battery. As for connectivity, it packs 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and FeliCa.
Speaking of other updates on Google, the tech giant will host the much-hyped Google I/O 2023 event on May 10. The Mountain View-headquartered company will announce a range of hardware and software products from Android 14 To Pixel 7a.
