iPhone 17 Pro Max: Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone 17 series, due later in September 2025, and the limelight is squarely on the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Ranging from its brand-new battery design to camera improvements and second-generation performance hardware, this is what initial leaks and rumours have indicated about the most high-end iPhone thus far.

Power Under the Hood: A19 Pro + Vapour Chamber Cooling

Performance is also getting a serious lift. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to debut Apple’s A19 Pro chip, built using TSMC’s 3 nm process, and paired with 12 GB of RAM. That kind of horsepower should be more than enough to handle AI features, advanced multitasking, and heavy gaming sessions.

Apple might also bring in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X80 modem for better 5G, along with its own custom Wi‑Fi 7 chip. To ensure things stay cool under pressure, the Pro Max could introduce a vapour chamber cooling system—something we’ve mostly seen in high-end gaming phones.

A Bigger Battery Means a Thicker iPhone

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumoured to pack Apple’s largest battery to date—around 5,000 mAh. That’s a significant boost over last year’s 4,676 mAh in the iPhone 16 Pro Max. To make space for it, Apple may slightly increase the phone’s thickness from 8.25 mm to roughly 8.725 mm.

This change isn’t just cosmetic—it could lead to serious gains in battery life. The current Pro Max delivers up to 33 hours of video playback. With the bigger cell, we could see 35 hours or more on a single charge.

Camera Upgrades You’ll Notice

Apple’s triple 48 MP rear camera setup isn’t going anywhere, but it’s getting smarter. Expect enhanced telephoto capabilities—possibly with a tetraprism lens—to offer better zoom and low-light performance. The front camera might jump to 24 MP, and 8K video recording is reportedly on the cards.

With Apple still pushing computational photography and AI-based processing, both amateur and professional users might reap huge benefits in terms of image quality and details.

Design Adjustments and Display Redesign

There are some possible noticeable design changes as well. Renders indicate the Apple logo might shift on the back, and the camera bump might extend across the panel. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is also expected to retain a ProMotion 120 Hz display, with possibly even slimmer bezels.

Colour options being floated include Titanium Blue, Purple, White, Black, and a bold new Orange. It’s clear Apple wants to keep the premium look but add a fresh twist.

Pricing: What to Expect in India, the US, and Dubai

Premium features will likely come at a premium price.

  • India: Around ₹1,64,900 for the base variant
  • US: Likely to start between $1,199 and $1,399
  • Dubai: Estimated at AED 5,099–5,399

Apple’s usual launch pattern points to a mid-September announcement, followed by availability within a couple of weeks.
