Here are the top announcements that were made by CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his team during the developer conference.
Here are some key announcements:
AR Glasses
Meta revealed Orion's first functioning prototype, a pair of augmented reality glasses that the company claims are the most sophisticated available and weigh less than 100 grams. Users of the see-through glasses can see virtual objects placed over their environment. Wearers may engage in video chats, use Messenger and WhatsApp, and obtain information about items in their direct line of sight. According to Meta, Orion is powered by a proprietary semiconductor, and the business is working on a consumer version of the glasses.
Mixed Reality Headset
Meta presented the Quest 3S mixed reality headset, which is reasonably priced at $399.99 for the bigger model and $299.99 for the smaller one. On October 15, the headset is scheduled to be on sale. Additionally, the 512GB Meta Quest 3 was reduced in price by the manufacturer from $649.99 to $499.99. The more expensive Quest Pro and earlier Quest 2 devices are being phased out in the interim.
Multimodal LLAMA 3.2
Llama 3.2, an open-source multimodal AI model from Meta, can produce content in response to both text and visual cues. Additionally, it revealed Llama 3.2 variants that are optimised for mobile devices.
Meta AI Chatbot With Voice Capabilities
With the ability to choose from a variety of celebrity voices, like Judi Dencht and John Cena, Meta AI will now enable voice. Through Facebook Messenger, Instagram Direct Messages, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger, Meta AI provides access to this feature.
Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses
Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are getting an update from Meta that will add AI reminder features and voice control for scanning QR codes and phone numbers. Later this year, the company plans to integrate AI video capabilities and real-time language translation.
