Motorola Edge 70 5G Launch Update:Motorola has announced the India launch date of its next ultra-slim phone – Motorola Edge 70. The device will be available for purchase in the country starting December 15 via Flipkart and Motorola’s official website as well as offline retail stores. Prior to its announcement, the company has sprung a few big surprises, unveiling key specifications such as the processor, camera tools, battery details and design highlights.

In a post shared on X, Motorola confirmed the Edge 70 India launch will happen on December 15. A dedicated microsite on Flipkart also reveals that the phone is going to come with three Pantone-certified colour options — Pantone Bronze Green, Pantone Gadget Grey and Pantone Lily Pad. The design of the Asus phone is touted as an ultra-slim phone that is only in 5.99mm thick and weighs around 159 g.

Performance and Software

Chipset and platform details The Motorola Edge 70 will have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset in its heart, so it can undoubtedly be placed under the upper mid-range category. The phone will ship with Android 16-based Hello UI, Motorola has confirmed. The company has also promised backers three years’ worth of Android OS updates and four years of security patches, providing substantial software support for users who are in it for the long haul.

Display and Design

For the front, the phone will showcase a 6.7-inch AMOLED with up to 1.5K resolution, up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness, support for Dolby Atmos and protection of Gorilla Glass 7i. Motorola is also adding a vapour cooling chamber system to the mix in order to help keep temperatures under control over long periods of use.

The Edge 70 is expected to feature an aircraft-grade aluminium frame and be MIL-STD-810H certified along with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Camera and Battery Details

In terms of photography, Motorola has stressed a 50-megapixel triple rear camera along with an LED flash. This consists of a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide camera with Macro Vision that supports 4K video recording at up to 60fps. On the front, there will be a 50-megapixel quad-pixel selfie camera on the phone.
