MWC 2024 Updates: Chinese smartphone maker Honor unveiled the Honor Magic 6 Pro globally and showcased its AI capabilities at the Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona. The company presented an experimental eye-tracking feature that can help you control your car (move and open the door remotely) using the smartphone's screen.

This feature is available for users of the handset in the brand's home market, and Honor is working to introduce the functionality overseas. As for other use cases of eye-tracking features, the company noted the phone will automatically detect when a user is looking at a notification in Magic Capsule (similar to Apple's Dynamic Island) and open the required app for a detailed view without letting users touch the screen.

AI-based updates in the phone include "Magic Portal" to link an event or address discovered in messages to the calendar or Maps app automatically. Plus, the company is also working on a video generation tool (powered by MagicLM technology) that will generate motion footage from images based on a textual prompt via on-device processing. Meanwhile, here are the specifications and global price of the handset.

Honor Magic 6 Pro Price and Specifications

The Magic 6 Pro has a 6.8-inch FHD+ 120Hz LTPO OLED curved screen with up to 5,000nits HDR peak brightness. For performance, the smartphone gets a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, Adreno 750 GPU and runs on MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14. The IP68-rated handset has a 5,600mAh battery with 80W wired and 66W wireless charging support.

As for the optics, the device gets a 50MP primary OIS, 50MP ultrawide, 180MP periscope lens on the rear and 50MP selfie lens. Moving to connectivity, the Magic 6 Pro has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, Infrared Remote Control, NFC, fingerprint reader and a USB Type-C port for charging.

The company announced the global launch of the Magic 6 Pro weeks after introducing the flagship in China. It will have a starting price of 1,299 Euros and comes in Epi Green and Black shades. Meanwhile, the company also announced the Honor MagicBook Pro 16 (available from Q2 2024), Honor Pad 9 and the Honor Magic V2 RSR PORSCHE DESIGN model in the global markets.
