With the release of the Realme C85 5G, Realme has added another smartphone to its growing lineup of budget 5G phones in India, one targeted at those who want long battery life, reliable day-to-day performance, and enhanced toughness. The new phone packs in a large 7,000mAh battery, a MediaTek chipset, and a few toughness features to set it apart from the usual entry-level options. It goes on sale in early December via Realme's store and a partner e-commerce platform.

Price and Availability in India

The base model Realme C85 5G variant with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will cost ₹14,999, while the 6GB RAM variant with the same storage comes for ₹16,499. Both these variants will go on sale in Parrot Purple and Peacock Green colour options, with open sales starting from December 1 at noon. With this positioning, the device will fall into the competitive ₹15,000 segment where brands have been trying to push 5G upgrades aggressively for some time now.

Performance and Software

The phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, matched with up to 6GB RAM and Realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15. The combo targets everyday usage with quick app switching, smoother scrolling, and minor gaming support. For users upgrading from older LTE phones, the combination of 5G and a newer chipset should deliver a noticeably cleaner experience.

Cameras and Imaging Tools

The Realme C85 5G sports a 50MP primary camera supported by an AI photo editing tool to help make minor adjustments with ease. The focus here is simplicity – point, shoot, tweak, share – and it's suitable for casual photography without pushing the limits into higher-end camera ambitions.

Battery, Charging and Durability

The highlight, though, remains the big 7,000mAh battery, which Realme insists will last up to two days on a single charge. The device supports 45W fast charging and 6.5W reverse wired charging. Durability has been increased with IP69 Pro dust and water resistance, tested for submersion at 6 metres for 30 minutes.

The MIL-STD 810H certification further ensures resistance against drops from up to 2 metres. Realme also mentions that the C85 5G has enabled the company to create a Guinness World Records title for the "Most people performing a mobile phone water resistance test," which underlines how ruggedness is key in this model. The Realme C85 5G, with long battery life, reinforced durability, and 5G support, will be offered at an affordable price in one of the most competitive categories for smartphones in India.
