South Korean tech giant Samsung unveiled its new range of Galaxy foldables this year at the second Galaxy Unpacked 2024. It seems Samsung is not done yet and is gearing up to launch a new foldable smartphone soon. According to the South Korean site Chosun Daily, Samsung may unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 6 'Slim' in its homeland as early as September 25.
The touted device could be slimmer than the regular Samsung foldable smartphones. It is tipped to be the thinnest foldable smartphone of the company with a rumoured thickness of slightly over 10mm. Compared to the regular models, the handset is expected to sport a bigger 6.5-inch cover and an 8-inch main screen. It is rumoured to be priced at roughly 2.8 million won (about $2,100).
As per the report, the smartphone may not get S Pen support. It may ship with thinner screens and camera modules to keep the thickness at a minimum. The change could have been guided due to the consumer demand for thin and light smartphones. This update also comes on the heels of a possible slim iPhone development from Apple which could have a thickness of 5mm.
Coming to the foldable space, the Z Fold 6 Slim may arrive as 'W25' in China. It may have to compete with the upcoming Huawei Mate X6 and other handsets such as the Honor Magic V3 and the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, both of which measure under 10mm in thickness. As per reports, the phone could sport a 10MP and 5MP front camera.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim may offer a titanium backplate. and could be limited to Korea and China initially. Based on the current rumours, an India debut of the handset remains unlikely. However, readers should note that Samsung has not confirmed these details at the time of writing. Hence, you must read this information with a pinch of salt.
