Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Update: Samsung has already dropped its big game at the beginning of the year itself, the S25 Series Smartphones, which came with its pros and cons, but the tech giant isn't done yet, and it has got more for us in its store. All credit to OnLeaks and Android Headlines we now have a visual of the new Galaxy Z Fold 7.

The CAD renders show some significant upgrades this time evolving over its predecessors. The latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be thinner this time with just 4.5 mm thickness when unfolded, and 9.5 mm when folded, this includes the camera bump without which we can expect it to be 9 mm thick. This makes the new Galaxy Fold 1.1 mm thinner than the previous version the Fold 6 and 0.4 mm thinner than the Galaxy Fold 6 SE. With that said it does sound impressive and is definitely an upgrade from the previous versions, but it still does not beat the latest Oppo Find N5 and HONOR Magic V3 which are 4.2 mm and 4.4mm thick respectively.

The display is expected to be 8.2 inches on the inside with a 6.5-inch outer display. This would make it the largest display ever to be on a book-style foldable, a title currently held by OPPO Find N5 which stands at 8.12 inches.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 measures around 158.4 x 143.1 x 4.5mm, suggesting the front display will be even wider than last year’s model. Samsung has faced challenges in making the outer display wide enough to be fully functional, starting with the first Galaxy Fold in 2019. However, with each new version, the Galaxy Z Fold gets slightly wider. While the exact aspect ratio of the front display is still unknown, the dimensions indicate it’s roughly 11mm wider when unfolded compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy & 4,400mAh Battery?

We can expect the Galaxy Fold 7 to be powered by a Snapdragon 8Elite chip for Galaxy as was the case with the latest S25 series. There are possibilities that Samsung might go for a 7-core processor this time following the path of OPPO's Find N5 to deal with the thermals efficiently. There is also a chance that Samsung will go for an Exynos 2500, but it seems quite unlikely as a lot of customization has already been done by Samsung with Qualcomm with its 8 Elite for Galaxy chip.

This might be a letdown for some, but the Galaxy Fold 7 might still carry the same 4,400mAh capacity battery, similar to previous generations.

Expected Camera Setup

The cameras however might turn the tides in its favor and come with a 200-megapixel primary sensor. We can also expect it to sport the same 12-MP ultrawide and 10-MP telephoto cameras on the back, stacking it up as a triple rear-camera setup. The front panel could come with a 10-MP selfie camera and a 4-MP under-display camera on the inside.

When Will We Get To See It?

Samsung usually launches its phones about a week earlier each year, but since the Galaxy S25 series came out a little later this time, we might see the same pattern with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (and Flip 7). However, we’re still expecting a mid-July launch.
