WhatsApp, a popular instant messaging application, gets regular limelight for testing new features and introducing them later in the stable build. In the latest move to upgrade the experience, the company is adding text formatting options and a sticker creation tool in the stable build on iOS. According to the official changelog on the Apple App Store, these options are rolling out in the "iOS 24.2.75" version.
According to WABetaInfo, some of the features may not be available to users as they are in the roll-out phase, and some accounts may be able to access them in a previous build. iPhone users can update their app from the App Store to check the availability of the features on their device. For the unaware, WABetaInfo spotted the new formatting options and sticker maker in the iOS 23.21.1.75 and iOS 24.1.10.72 beta build.
"Added new text formatting options for quotes, bullets, numbered lists, and inline code" and "You can now create stickers from photos or edit stickers with decorating tools. Tap the 'sticker' icon in chat, navigate to the 'sticker' tab, and tap '+' to use the new sticker creator," the changelog of the new version read.
With the new formatting tools, users can further personalise and customise their messages via elements like quote formatting, adding lists and showcasing code snippets in a distinctive layout. The second change will help users in making stickers from photos and add decorative elements. To get started, head to the stickers tab on the chat and tap the '+' icon.
These features will help improve the experience for a wide range of users who use these functionalities in chat regularly. If the features are not rolling out on your WhatsApp build, you can update the app or check for a new version in the TestFlight app. "These features will roll out over the coming weeks," the changelog noted. Meanwhile, the company is also testing a sticker creation conversion tool on Windows in beta trials. You can learn more about this here.
