WhatsApp, a popular instant messaging platform, which has been adding a slew of new features, is reportedly adding a new forwarding message feature exclusively for channels on both Android and iOS platforms.
Users may now easily share channel messages with their friends and family, the company stated in a recent update provided through the official channel. According to WABetaInfo, this action aims to increase channel reach and engagement.
Users only need to tap on a message and select the 'advance' action to see if this feature is available. According to a report from the platform, WhatsApp is giving channel producers a strong tool to increase the size of their audience by enabling them to transfer messages from channels.
The receiver's ability to follow the channel will be made simpler by the forwarded message's inclusion of a new entry point. Users can immediately connect with the content shared within the channel by choosing "View channel."
Currently, only a select group of users who have updated their versions of WhatsApp for iOS and WhatsApp for Android from the Play Store can utilise this functionality. Over the next few days, it is planned to progressively roll out to additional users.
WhatsApp added seven new nations to its list of supported channels in the preceding month: Egypt, Chile, Malaysia, Morocco, Ukraine, Kenya, and Peru. With the help of channels, administrators can broadcast content in a single direction, including text, images, videos, stickers, and polls.
In June, WhatsApp first launched Channels to give consumers more options for communication. Reports also claim that the platform is actively developing a message reaction function for channels, which is an interesting development. A specific "Channel settings" area may be included in this planned feature, giving admins control over the opinions that members may voice in the channel.
