WhatsApp, a Meta-owned instant messaging platform which is currently working on a lot of new features for its beta channel is reportedly adding a new feature using which the users will be able to create a new group while they are forwarding the message.

According to a report by WaBetaInfo, the platform will be getting a new create group icon while the user is forwarding a message so that the user can quickly share the message (with media) with other users at the same time. If the user selects the option, it will get an option to add contacts to the groups and the message will automatically forward to that group.

"The WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.16.3 update was released on the Google Play Store a few hours ago. While the update allows more users to explore UI upgrades such as Material Design 3 and the new layout for the security notifications screen, it also provides a new feature. A restricted set of beta testers may be allowed to create a new group while forwarding a message", according to WABetaInfo.

If you are a beta tester or a part of the developer channel, you may try forwarding the message and see if the new icon appears on the screen. If not, you are expected to get the new feature within a few days.

The platform aims to save a lot of time for the users by providing a shortcut to users creating groups based on specific occasions, messages or events which inspires them to create a new group. For instance, if you are planning a movie with your friends, you can directly create a group with show timings and more rather than asking everyone individually.
