WhatsApp latest update features: Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp has just dropped a few updates in a move that aims to improve cross-platform functionality, organisation, and overall usability. The new feature would include a tool that would help the user in storage management, improved AI conversations, and most of all, transferability of chats between Android and iOS devices. iPhone users get an extra benefit of maintaining two accounts on a single device, but this is something that Android already has.

Chat Transfer and More
The thing that has definitely taken the centre stage this time is the cross-platform chat transferability update. WhatsApp laid out the details of its new update in a blog post, sharing that the instant messaging app now has the option to transfer conversations from Android to iOS and the other way around as well. Users will be able to shift their entire WhatsApp experience to a new device with ease, including chats, groups, communities, channel updates, call records, and more. Media files like photos and videos will also move along in the process.
The app is also refining how storage is handled. A new option lets users dig into individual chats and remove large files selectively. Found under the chat info section via Manage Storage, this feature helps clear space without wiping full conversations and even allows media-only cleanup.
iOS Dual Accounts Is A Relief For iOS Users
Another notable addition is dual account support on iOS. Previously limited to Android, this update now lets iPhone users run two WhatsApp accounts on one device. Switching between them is straightforward, with the active account clearly indicated through the profile icon in the bottom bar. Apart from that, AI functionality has also been improved, and now the instant messaging app also lets users edit photos inside the chat itself using Meta AI before these chats are sent. Users can do things like changing backgrounds, removing unwanted elements, and obviously more styles. The Writing Help feature is also being amped up and now is more conversation-context-friendly. WhatsApp promises privacy will be maintained while replies are being drafted using this AI suite.
Another small upgrade includes how stickers are used; now the instant messaging app will start suggesting emojis as you type them, and with just one tap, users will be able to swap from an emoji to a sticker to capture their honest mood, as WhatsApp claims.
