Soon after initial reports of X (formerly called Twitter) working on a dislike button for the microblogging platform, it seems the feature is now showing up for some users. It is expected to be similar to offerings on other platforms such as YouTube, Reddit and more. According to The Tech Outlook, the feature has been in the works since 2021 and may now be available to some users.

In an X post, user DogeDesigner noted the dislike button is "rolling out to some users". However, it remains unclear if the feature is restricted to the US or is expanding globally. Based on the screengrab shared by @cb_doge, the dislike button may appear between the like and bookmark buttons for eligible users.

However, readers should note that there is no official word on the feature's rollout from X's official channels. According to previous reports, the downvoting button could focus on replies and help rank them in a post. MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris spotted the functionality in July and said the feature is coming to X's iOS app.

It remains unclear if the feature will be available for all posts or just limited to replies. The feature could look like a heart-shaped button with a downward line in the centre. However, it remains unknown if the functionality will arrive for more users or just be limited behind the doors. Meanwhile, the platform is also working on a feature to let users edit DM messages on X's iOS app.

Plus, X is also developing a payment feature for the platform, Aaron noted in a recent post. Meanwhile, the recent tweaks come amid X's rapid experimentation on the platform. This includes shifting priorities towards video and introducing calling features on the app. The company has also integrated AI chatbot Grok and many other features in recent times.
