X (Twitter) Down Today: Has Elon Musk's Social Media Platform Recovered?

X Down Today: X (formerly Twitter) was reported to be down on Tuesday, i.e., Jan 13, 2026, with users all around the globe encountering problems while trying to access the social media platform, as was suggested by the popular website downtime detector, Downdetector.com.

The outage seems to have taken place from 9 a.m. ET/7:30 IST; the outage peaked at more than 28,300 logged issues in the U.S., eventually cooling down to 700 reports as per Downdetector.

Outage reports had peaked at 8,000 logged reports and then fell to 130, while Canada reported its cap at 3,200 reports earlier on the same day.

According to Reuters, the company has not rendered any response or comment as of now on what caused the outage. The number of users facing outage may differ from what was reported by Downdetector.

In November 2025, X faced back-to-back outages that rattled users. One incident was traced to a faulty Cloudflare security configuration that temporarily disrupted traffic, while another, days later, knocked the platform offline for thousands of users across the US.
