Xiaomi Redmi new phone launch: Redmi launched another smartphone, the Redmi 15A, on Friday, and this device will compete in the affordable smartphone segment in the market. The device, despite catering to the budget segment, boasts an octa-core 5G processor, and the device also comes in three colourways. For batteries the Redmi 15A comes with a 6,300mAh cell and has a dual camera setup. The display is quite large at 6.9 inches and supports up to 120 Hz of refresh rate. How it feels in hand and how comfortable the device is in hand will only be known after it's tested for in-hand feel.

Software and AI Features
The dual-SIM Redmi 15A runs on Android 16 with HyperOS 3.0 layered on top. Redmi is promising long-term support with up to four years of Android updates and six years of security patches. The device also brings AI-driven tools like Google Gemini, Circle to Search, and Xiaomi Interconnectivity.
Display and Performance
The phone features a large 6.9-inch HD+ display with adaptive refresh rate options of 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz. It also supports a 240Hz touch sampling rate and offers peak brightness of up to 800 nits.
Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core T8300 5G chipset built on a 6nm process, paired with a Mali-G57 GPU. The device offers up to 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. There is also support for virtual RAM expansion, while storage can be extended up to 2TB via a microSD card.
Cameras
On the rear, the Redmi 15A houses a dual camera setup led by a 32-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. For selfies and video calls, it includes an 8-megapixel front camera.

Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, AGPS, Glonass, Galileo, FM radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB OTG, and a USB Type-C port. The device also comes equipped with essential sensors such as an ambient light sensor, e-compass, proximity sensor, and fingerprint scanner. Stereo speakers are also part of the package.

The Redmi 15A packs a 6,300mAh battery with support for 15W wired charging. It also supports 7.5W wired reverse charging. In terms of design, the phone measures 171.56 x 79.47 x 8.15mm and weighs 210 grams.

India Pricing
This is a budget entry, and it starts at Rs 12,999, which is for the base variant with the 4+64GB configuration. The other two available options include 4+128GB and 6+128GB; the pricing for these are Rs 14,499 and Rs 16,499, respectively. Buyers will get to choose from three colour options, namely Ace Black, Awesome Blue and Amaze Purple.
