Hyderabad Crime News: In Telangana, a female passenger was reportedly raped by a bus conductor while travelling from Hyderabad to Andhra Pradesh. The crime took place on the night of September 18 in Kukatpally. The bus conductor has been arrested.

According to police, the accused, identified as Sai Kumar, targeted the woman as she boarded the bus (AP07 TT 6633) for her journey to her hometown, Samarlakota, AP. Noticing that she is travelling alone, he initiated a conversation with her. Kumar then instructed her to move to the back seat of the bus, claiming that her original seat would be uncomfortable.

According to a Deccan Chronicle report, Once at the rear, he gagged her to silence and proceeded to rape her. Following the assault, Sai Kumar threatened the victim, warning her that he would kill her if she reported the incident. In a further act of violence, he assaulted her again.

The victim was able to escape when the bus made a stop. Once free, she contacted the owner of the travel company, Anil Reddy, who promptly accompanied her to the Choutuppal police station to file a complaint. The police recorded a zero FIR and subsequently transferred the case to the Kukatpally police.

On September 21, with the help of a female officer, the Kukatpally police took the victim's statement and registered a formal case (1215 of 2024). Following the investigation, Sai Kumar was arrested and taken into custody.

The police have confirmed that the accused remains in custody as they continue to gather evidence related to this serious case.
