Telangana Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday stated that several districts of Telangana, including Hyderabad, are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that apart from rainfall, these districts are also likely to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds with speeds of 50 to 60 kmph. The continuous rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the maximum temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. However, the rainfall is also likely to lead to issues like waterlogging and power outages in multiple areas.
Telangana: These districts to witness rainfall
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts of Telangana, including Bhadradri Kothagudem, Hanumakonda, Mahabubabad, Mulugu, and Warangal, are likely to witness very heavy rainfall for the next few days. It further stated that multiple other districts, including Adilabad, Jangaon, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Khammam, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Siddipet, and Suryapet, are expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall at least till August 20.
Hyderabad to receive moderate to heavy rainfall
The weather department stated that Hyderabad is likely to witness light to moderate rainfall for at least the next 72 hours. It further informed that the rainfall will lead to waterlogging in several key areas, leading to slow vehicular movements, especially during office hours. The weather department further stated that while the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 29 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 22 degrees Celsius.
The IMD has advised the residents of the city to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences. The weather department also stated that the intensity of rainfall is likely to decrease after August 22, providing relief to the residents. Apart from Telangana, several other states, including Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, are also likely to receive light to heavy rainfall for the next few days.
