Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are set to potentially cross paths next month at the Venice Film Festival. The former Hollywood power couple, who have been embroiled in a highly publicised and bitter divorce, are both slated to debut their new movies at the event, which kicks off on August 28.
The high-profile split, which began in 2016, has seen Angelina and Brad avoid each other at major events. However, the Venice International Film Festival might force an encounter between them, despite their ongoing legal battles. Recently, their shared children dropped Pitt’s surname, which has reportedly left the actor feeling hurt.
Angelina Jolie, known for her role in Maleficent and her last film Eternals in 2021, will debut her new biopic Maria. The film, directed by Pablo Larraín, is a tribute to the legendary opera singer Maria Callas. Larraín, renowned for his previous biopics Jackie and Spencer, brings his unique touch to this film, which is written by Steven Knight and produced by Fremantle. Maria is in contention for the prestigious Golden Lion award at the 81st Venice International Film Festival.
