Pop icon Lady Gaga, who received the most nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards 2025, took home the prestigious Artist of the Year award on Sunday, September 7. After triumphing over Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, Beyoncé, Morgan Wallen and the Weeknd, she gave a special shoutout to fiancé, Michael Polansky, to whom she was engaged last year. Lady Gaga dedicated her award to her partner, appreciating him for always being there for her.

During her acceptance speech, Lady Gaga stole the show with a touching message for her partner, Michael Polansky. She was heard saying, "To my partner in all things, Michael, creating this year with you was a beautiful, beautiful dream. And you have been my partner every step of the way. I dedicate this to you, to my love.” Her speech from the event has won the hearts of her fans.

She also dedicated the award to her fans and thanked them for their support. The singer said, "Thank you, little monsters, my fans, for always supporting me and always supporting the monster in me."

During the speech, Gaga, who headed into the night as the most-nominated artist with 12 nods, made her exit from the VMAs, as she had to get back to Madison Square Garden, where she is performing a show on her Mayhem Ball tour.

Michael Polansky is credited as a writer on a few songs from the album, including Disease and Vanish into You. The Mayhem Ball Tour marks the eighth concert tour by the Grammy winner, consisting of 63 shows. The tour kicked off on July 16 in Las Vegas and is set to jet off to Canada on September 10. The tour will wrap in Paris on November 17, 18 and 20.

At a tour stop in July, Gaga also shouted out to Polansky, calling him “the love of my life.”

The 2025 MTV VMAs were held at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, on Sunday, September 7 at 8 PM. ET on CBS and MTV. The ceremony also streamed on Paramount+.
