'The Batman' franchise is one of the most popular superhero franchises and DC Universe has decided to revamp it. Robert Pattinson was introduced as the new Batman aka Bruce Wayne in the movie and received a lot of appreciation for his performance. 'The Batman 2' has officially been confirmed by Andy Serkis, who played the role of Alfred Pennyworth and has given a new update about the movie as well.

In an interview with Popverse, Alfred Pennyworth revealed, "Basically, I know nothing about the movie other than that I’ve just found out that we’re probably likely to be starting filming early next year. Therefore, if you do the math, it’ll be a year and a half after that."

“I know that Matt [Reeves] is working really hard on the script. Matt Reeves being Matt Reeves, the extraordinary filmmaker that he is, I can only assume that it’s going to be another brilliant script, because I thought what he did with that first film was pretty amazing. I loved working with Rob Pattinson, and I really look forward to playing Alfred once more," he added.

'The Batman' also stars Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard and Colin Farrell.

The makers have decided to extend 'The Batman' universe by creating new spin-offs. A new series titled 'The Penguin' has been announced and will focus on the antagonist Oswald Cobblepot, also known as The Penguin. This character first appeared in the 2020 movie 'The Batman' and is played brilliantly by Colin Farrell.

Cristin Milioti will also play a pivotal role in the series and will be seen as another antagonist Sofia Falcone, daughter of the late crime boss Carmine Falcone. Clancy Brown, Michael Zegen, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O'Connell, James Madio, Scott Cohen, Theo Rossi, Carmen Ejogo, and François Chau will be seen in the supporting roles.
