Meta announced the web version of Threads last month for users. While it debuted with a skeletal structure, when compared to X (formerly called Twitter), the company promised more features would roll out in the upcoming versions. Continuing this commitment, Meta has rolled out the functionality to quote posts on the Threads web platform.

This essentially means users can add their thoughts via text while reposting a thread from another user on the Threads web version. Instagram Head Adam Mosseri shared that the update was "rolled out this week". To use the feature, users can click the repost button and select the 'Quote' option to post a thread with their custom quote.

Mosseri further added that users can follow a thread by switching on notifications for 24 hours on mobile. Users can tap the bell symbol at the top-right of a thread to try this feature. However, according to The Verge, this option is not available widely on iOS. While Meta continues to polish Threads, Elon Musk continues to realign X into an all-in-one app. Musk also plans to add video and audio calls on the platform for users soon.
