A 28-year-old man allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia, police said on Tuesday. The man was identified as Alok Rajak, a resident of Sarwar Kakargatti in Maniyar town.
Maniyar police station in-charge Ratnesh Dubey told news agency PTI that the man hanged himself as he was upset about his wife not returning from her parents' home.
"After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot immediately. We have taken the body into our custody and initiated further legal proceedings. An investigation into the matter is underway," he further said.

In another incident, the bodies of two Dalit girls, aged 15 and 18 years, were found hanging from a tree in Uttar Pradesh’s Farrukhabad on Tuesday morning. According to Farrukhabad’s superintendent of police (SP), Alok Priyadarshi, the bodies of two girls were found in a mango orchard in a village near Kayamganj.
Both girls, who were close friends, belonged to the same community. They went missing from the village temple where they had gone to see Sri Krishna Janmashtami's tableau at around 9 pm on Monday night and did not return home.
In another incident of suicide that came to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr, Post Office Superintendent TP Singh allegedly died by suicide following a CBI raid in Bulandshahr Main Post Office regarding a corruption investigation.
The Superintendent allegedly died by suicide in Aligarh, his home district. Hours after being grilled by the CBI, the Post Office Superintendent reached Aligarh where he allegedly took this drastic step and posted a suicide letter in the WhatsApp groups he was part of.
Earlier in August, an 18-year-old IIT aspirant from Uttar Pradesh died under mysterious conditions in Rajasthan’s Kota on Monday. The boy was found in an unconscious state in the bathroom. He was rushed to the hospital where he died during treatment. The boy was identified as Kushagra Rastogi. His mother came to Kota two days back and was staying with him.
