Delhi Road Accident: Uncontrolled Speeding Cars Crash Near Shatabdi Nagar Metro Station; 6 Injured

Two cars coming from the direction of Partapur were racing at high speed on Delhi Road. Near the Shopprix Mall intersection, both vehicles lost control and collided with each other. Losing its balance, one car—a Tizer, hit a divider, was thrown some distance, and overturned after skidding. Meanwhile, the other car—a Scorpio, plunged into a drain.

More Than 10 Lives Narrowly Saved

More than 10 people narrowly escaped being hit by the uncontrolled speeding vehicles. At around 2:30 am on Friday night, on an otherwise empty road, over 10 lives were saved from the crash. The accident occurred near Shatabdi Nagar Metro Station on Delhi Road, where people were gathered at a tea shop situated opposite Shopprix Mall.

Just then, the Scorpio and the Tizer, arriving at high speed from Partapur, side-swiped each other. Consequently, the Scorpio went straight into the drain, while the Tizer overturned. Four two-wheelers parked in front of the tea shop were also caught in the Scorpio's path. Two of the two-wheelers were crushed under the Scorpio inside the drain, while two were crushed on the edge of the drain. The riders of these vehicles had stopped at the shop to have tea.

At the time of the incident, no one was standing directly outside the shop; otherwise, a major tragedy could have occurred. The Tizer was being driven by Sayan, son of Haji Mehraj, accompanied by Noman, son of Naeem. The second vehicle, the Scorpio, carried four youths. It was being driven by Kasif, son of Asif, along with Maaz, son of Anis Ahmed; Zaid, son of Farid; and Uzair, son of Mehrban.

The collision was so severe that looking at the wreckage, it seemed unlikely the occupants would have survived. However, apart from injuries to various parts of their bodies, no one suffered life-threatening harm. People nearby rushed to the scene and pulled the injured out. The police subsequently transported all the injured to the hospital.
