The Uttar Pradesh government has announced financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh for native residents of the state undertaking the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Principal Secretary of the Department of Charitable Affairs, Mukesh Kumar Meshram, has issued detailed guidelines regarding the same.

The grant will be available not only to pilgrims joining the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra organised by the Government of India but also to those undertaking the pilgrimage through private travel agencies or personal arrangements.

Eligible pilgrims must apply online within 90 days of completing the yatra at updharmarthkarya.in. The application must be accompanied by a recent photograph, Aadhaar card, PAN card, residence certificate, passport and visa, bank details, journey completion certificate, and other relevant documents. Physical submission of applications will not be accepted.

The submitted documents will be scrutinised by the Directorate of Charitable Affairs. If verified successfully, the grant amount will be directly transferred to the applicant’s bank account. In case of discrepancies or forged documents, the application will be rejected, and the applicant will be informed via their registered mobile number and email.

Officials clarified that the grant can be availed only once in a lifetime. In the unfortunate event of a pilgrim's death, the decision on grant disbursement will be made based on the application submitted by the spouse or a dependent.
