Meerut: 51-Year-Old Man Found Dead In Podiwada House After Foul Smell Alerts Family

The body of a middle-aged man was discovered inside a house in the Podiwada neighbourhood, within the Kotwali police station area, on Friday night. The discovery was made after a foul smell emanating from the residence alerted family members.

The Discovery

The deceased has been identified as 51-year-old Anil Kumar, a resident of Podiwada.

Circumstances: On Friday night, a strong foul odour coming from Anil’s room prompted his nephew, Sudhir, to investigate. Upon entering the premises, he found his uncle dead.

Living Situation: According to the police, Anil was unmarried and lived alone in his specific portion of the house. His brother and his family reside in a separate part of the same property.

Police Investigation

Following the discovery, the police and local residents were immediately informed. Station House Officer (SHO) Jitendra Kumar arrived at the scene to conduct an initial inquiry.

Action Taken: The body has been recovered and sent to the mortuary.

Next Steps: SHO Kumar stated that the exact cause of death remains unclear at this stage and will only be confirmed once the post-mortem report is available.
