Residents of Sector 56 in Noida have been facing a severe water shortage for the past month, forcing them to depend on private tankers to meet daily needs. According to RWA President Sanjay Mavi, the sector includes around 2,000 flats and 1,000 independent houses, all affected by the disrupted supply.

Locals say the problem has persisted since before Diwali. The morning and evening supply lasts only 30 minutes to an hour, and the pressure is so low that water does not reach rooftop tanks.

With festivities underway, residents are finding the situation increasingly difficult.

Despite multiple complaints to the Noida Authority’s water department, no action has been taken so far, residents allege. Many households across the sector are now fully reliant on tanker water as the crisis continues.
