UP Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to witness a sharp drop in temperature from December 25 onwards. The weather department stated that these districts are set to experience dense fog and a cold wave, especially in the morning hours. It further stated that the presence of dense fog is likely to affect the visibility severely, leading to inconveniences for the commuters. The district administration has been directed to take necessary steps to minimise the loss. Apart from this, the IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings in the morning hours.
UP: Dense Fog Likely In THESE Districts
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Aligarh, Muzaffarnagar, Barabanki, Kanpur Dehat, Agra, Lucknow, Firozabad, Etawah, Auraiya, Bareilly, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Ayodhya, Kaushambi, Kushinagar, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Balrampur, Shravasti, and Lakhimpur Kheri, are likely to witness dense fog and cold waves for the next two weeks.

The weather department has advised the commuters to drive carefully in the morning hours to avoid inconveniences. It further suggested the farmers protect their crops and limit their outings. The IMD emphasised that the temperature is likely to drop below 10 degrees Celsius in most of the UP districts from December 25.
The weather department stated that the capital city Lucknow is also likely to witness a cold wave for the next few days. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 21 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 9 degrees Celsius.
According to the IMD’s latest bulletin, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Bihar are also expected to experience dense to very dense fog conditions until December 29, while Uttarakhand is likely to experience these conditions until December 28.
