Uttar Pradesh Weather: The much-awaited monsoon has arrived across Uttar Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, the rain is set to intensify even further today, Sunday, with heavy rainfall and thunderstorms forecast in more than 50 districts.

Speaking to reporters, senior meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh stated that the eastern regions of the state have already experienced a surge in rainfall and the effects are now being felt across the entire state. "There is a strong possibility that the rain will continue until July 2," he explained. "During this period, we can expect temperatures to remain three to four degrees Celsius below the seasonal average."

The impact of the monsoon was clearly evident on Friday, as more than 20 districts in central and eastern Uttar Pradesh, including the state capital, experienced heavy rainfall. This trend continued into Saturday, with Lucknow remaining cloudy and drizzle persisting until around 10 am. The day's temperature dropped by seven degrees, reaching a comfortable 33.8 degrees Celsius, providing much-needed respite to the residents.

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for several districts, including Banda, Sonbhadra, Fatehpur, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Kabir Nagar, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Unnao, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahar, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur and neighbouring areas.

Additionally, an alert for the possibility of extremely heavy rain has been sounded in several districts, including Banda, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Prayagraj, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Jaunpur, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Balrampur, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Shravasti, Bahraich, Saharanpur, Shamli, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Ayodhya, Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi and surrounding districts.
