Uttar Pradesh Weather: People across Uttar Pradesh have been facing severe heat conditions for the past few days, with hot winds adding to their discomfort. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heat wave warning for more than 30 districts of the state, beginning Wednesday, May 14. The heat is expected to continue till at least May 20.

Uttar Pradesh: Over 24 Districts Witness High Temperature

On Tuesday, several districts recorded temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. Banda was the hottest place in the state with a maximum of 44.2 degrees Celsius, while Lucknow reached 41.4 degrees Celsius. Cities like Ghazipur, Varanasi, Prayagraj and Gorakhpur also reported day temperatures crossing 40 degrees Celsius. According to meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh, more than 24 districts in Uttar Pradesh are witnessing high day temperatures, which is now starting to affect daily life. Not just the days, but the nights have also become uncomfortably warm.

IMD Forecast: Heatwave To Continue Until May 20

In Agra, Aligarh and Ghazipur, the night-time minimum temperature was around 27 degrees Celsius nearly five degrees above the usual levels. The weather department has stated that heat wave conditions will continue in many parts of the state until May 20.

Uttar Pradesh Weather Forecast: Heatwave Alert

In western Uttar Pradesh, a thunderstorm with gusty winds is likely in isolated areas on May 13, while no warning has been issued for the eastern part of the state on that day. From May 14 onwards, heat wave conditions are expected to begin affecting isolated places in eastern Uttar Pradesh, with both regions likely to experience rising heat through the week.

Lucknow Weather Forecast: Heatwave

In Lucknow, temperatures are set to climb steadily. From May 13 to May 19, the maximum temperature will range between 42 degrees Celsius and 45 degrees Celsius. The weather will remain dry, with clear skies from May 15 onwards. On May 16 and 17, heat wave conditions are likely. Night temperatures will hover around 26 degrees Celsius to 29 degrees Celsius.

Prayagraj Weather Forecast: Heatwave Alert

Prayagraj will witness even higher temperatures. From May 13 onwards, maximum temperatures will remain between 43 degrees Celsius and 45 degrees Celsius. Heat wave conditions are expected to persist from May 15 to 19, while the minimum temperature will stay around 26 degrees Celsius to 28 degrees Celsius. Strong surface winds are also expected in the initial days.
