Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday inaugurated a new daily Air India Express flight service connecting Dehradun and Bengaluru. The flight will arrive at Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport at 4:00 pm daily and depart for Bengaluru at 4:30 pm. The inaugural flight saw 143 passengers arrive in Dehradun, while 115 passengers departed for Bengaluru.
During the flag-off ceremony, the Chief Minister stated that the enhanced air connectivity will add a new dimension to investment, tourism, and employment in Uttarakhand. He emphasized that the direct service will greatly benefit the state's youth, entrepreneurs, IT professionals, and tourists. Additionally, this new route will provide seamless onward connectivity to 18 other cities.
CM Dhami also highlighted the state's broader efforts to enhance air connectivity, crediting the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that 18 heliports are being developed across the state, with 12 already operational. "We are also working swiftly to connect Uttarakhand with global air services," he added, noting a focus on increasing air connectivity in mountainous regions to act as a lifeline during natural disasters.

In a nod to local culture, the Air India Express aircraft was decorated with traditional Aipan art. Also present at the inauguration were Tehri MP Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, Doiwala MLA Brij Bhushan Gairola, Air India Express Managing Director Alok Singh, and Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority CEO Ashish Chauhan.
