If you love Samosas, this Pune-based incident might leave you triggered on a different level. In one of the most disgusting food adulterations, a major automobile company in Pune’s Pimpari Chinchwad made some troubling headlines, as condoms, gutka, and stones were found inside the much-loved Samosas in the firm’s canteen, as per reports by news agency ANI. Yes, let that sink in. According to the police, the act was deliberate and was committed in order to defame the firm that was responsible for supplying the snacks. Rushing into action, an investigation was launched, and the police reportedly arrested 5 accused in the matter.
As soon as the reports about the case began to float online, it left netizens gagging in disgust and chastised the incident. The automobile company reportedly gave the order to Catalyst Service Solutions Pvt. Ltd, which contacted another subcontracting firm, Manohar Enterprise, for the Samosas. The arrest was made on April 08, where two of the arrested worked for the Manohar Enterprise. Whereas, the other three arrested worked for a firm, SRA Enterprises, that previously faced cancellation over ‘snacks adulteration’ by Catalyst Service Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
As per the reports, the entire thing was done with the aim of defaming the new subcontracting firm, Manohar Enterprise. “Out of the five accused, the three partners had allegedly planted the other two workers to ensure the firm that had gotten the fresh contract would get defamed,” the police were quoted as saying to ANI.
“During the investigation on Sunday, after Manohar Enterprises' staffers were questioned over the incident, it was found that two workers, identified as Firoz Shaikh and Vicky Shaikh, had allegedly stuffed condoms, gutka, and stones in the samosas,” the police was further quoted as saying.
The case was reportedly registered under Section 328 (causing harm by means of poison) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC.
