Dubai Rain: UAE’s Gulf Tiger, Dubai, which usually compels people to blast their ACs 24/7 to beat its scorching heat, took a hard 180 after it witnessed over one and a half year’s worth of rainfall in the past 24 hours. The rainfall reportedly began on late Monday, April 15, and by the time the city woke up to a stormy Tuesday, April 16, it was already heavily drenched in floodwater. Yes, flooding in Dubai has now become a thing and that is all that took the internet over as soon as videos of the same began to surface on social media.

As per reports, the rainfall surpassed all the records recorded ever since the city began collecting the data in 1949. A Red Alert was also issued by the National Centre of Meteorology. Amid all this, the city looked more like how India’s Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore look after rainfall. Taking the opportunity to point out the same, netizens shared memes, while the rest prayed for the safety of Dubai citizens.

Taking to the internet, netizens reacted to the situation.

“Dubai got flooded after 120 mm rains in whole day and people cry after mumbai Gets slightly waterlogged after 250 mm in 3 hours. #dubairain #dubairains,” a user said.
