An otherwise educational visit to Milan for a Kerala couple turned into a nightmare after the duo was robbed at the railway station. Losing their passport, credit and debit cards, and cash, the duo felt helpless as they came face to face with the horror of getting robbed in a foreign country. So, what led to it, let’s begin from the beginning. Jothydev Kesavadev, a physician and diabetes researcher, was on a trip to Italy with his wife Sunitha. The couple were travelling from Milan to Florence to present their research paper. However, while boarding their train at the Milan Central railway station, the duo were robbed of their essential belongings, leaving them helpless in a foreign country. Taking to his social media handle, Kesavadev shared about the incident. As per his post, the incident took place on March 05.

However, due to the help of his fellow researchers, and a few known contacts like Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, the couple was somehow able to get an emergency passport, so that they could travel back to India. Narrating the entire ordeal that the duo faced before getting the emergency passport, Kesavadev shared his story to caution people of such unforeseen incidents, that may leave people scared and helpless. His post went viral and left people reacting to it.
