Kolkata Metro Viral Video: Passengers travelling from the Kolkata metro running on the city’s ‘North to South’ stretch, deboarded the train feeling nostalgic, as the metro authorities played the much-loved cartoon show, Tom and Jerry, inside the train. A video of the same was shared on social media, which went viral and intrigued adults more than kids. Reportedly, the said initiative has been introduced to engage kids travelling in the Kolkata metro. Meanwhile, the show was played on the metro’s display screen, which is otherwise used for displaying metro stations’ information.

As soon as the clip went viral, it left people's reaction as a majority, not just in Kolkata but in other cities as well, welcomed the move with open arms. Netizens even suggested the same for other metropolitan cities where commuting by metro is a facility.

The video was shared on Instagram, by the handle ‘thememebharat’. The post was captioned, “Kolkata Metro has launched Tom and Jerry cartoons for kids' entertainment, delighting commuters with a nostalgic treat.”

The video garnered a variety of reactions from people, making it go viral. Many loved the idea and urged the same for the Delhi metro, while the rest cracked jokes on the clip. Most people also pointed out that they would rather NOT deboard at their station and will choose to complete the episode instead. The post was shared two days ago and pulled 94K likes from people.

Taking to the comment section, netizens expressed their delight in watching the cartoon show. “Need this in Delhi Metro ASAP,” a user said. “Still better than today’s trash adult content,” commented a second person. “So now I’m late and have depression?” added a third person. “I had to deboard the metro in the last station, came here because I was busy watching the cartoon,” commented a fourth user.

“Imagine, 30 feet under river Ganga, travelling from Salt Lake sector 5 to Howrah via Sealdah and watching Tom and Jerry. Like seriously, I can't imagine how Kolkata grew with me,” added a fifth person. “Seriously, half of the audience is teenagers and adults,” wrote a sixth user. “Not just for kids...and if I don't reach the climax by the time I reach my station, I'll go to the next station but will complete the episode,” joined another.
