Instagram Influencer Viral Video: What started as a casual scroll through Instagram reels quickly turned into a chilling reminder of how unsafe women still feel in India. A woman influencer, Shiwangi Peswani, recently shared her shocking experience online, an incident that involved none other than a police officer. It all began when she noticed a strange comment on one of her reels. The comment wasn’t random; it described exactly what she was doing on a particular night. Curious and disturbed, Shiwangi asked the follower how he could recognise her in the dark. The answer shook her. The man revealed he was actually a cop who had spotted her late at night and, disturbingly, admitted he had fallen for her.

But things didn’t stop there. Instead of behaving responsibly, the officer allegedly tracked her personal details, created a fake Instagram ID under a woman’s name and began leaving messages on her posts. Calling it 'dangerous,' Shiwangi shared screenshots of the repeated disturbing texts she received from the cop, who continued commenting on her reels and even on her age.

Hoping for justice, she filed a police complaint. According to her post, the police called her to the station a week later, in the presence of the same cop. Shockingly, their so-called solution was to ask her to “block him and move on.” Instead of safety, the normalisation of harassment by those in authority left her more unsettled.

Determined not to stay silent, Shiwangi spoke out on social media: “Women should not have to fear being tracked and harassed by those meant to protect us… Misuse of official access and power is unacceptable.”

The post, shared from her handle ‘shiwangi_peswani,’ quickly went viral, sparking anger and outrage. Many netizens slammed the police for their response, while others encouraged her to keep fighting for justice.

"Police ki teznazar se sirf criminals bachtehailadkiyanhi," a user wrote. "You're so courageous to take action and speak out on this matter on social media. Hats off to you," a second user wrote. "One thing we know since our young days....You are not safe with policemen, the sad reality is that nothing has changed even today," wrote a third user.

"Maybe at first we could have just let it go, blocked him, and moved on. But when I heard that he actually traced you, your vehicle number, and even your ID, that crossed every limit, it was extremely dangerous and risky. If someone can trace your name, your ID, or your car number, then they can easily find your home, your address, and even track your movements. That’s unacceptable. You did the right thing by filing a complaint, because as girls we already face all kinds of random DMs and unwanted messages, but this is far more serious. Blocking is enough for a random guy in the inbox but when it becomes stalking and tracing, action must be taken. You absolutely did the right thing," added a fourth user.
