There has been a lot of social media discussion about a new video that shows an unusual interaction between pop star Selena Gomez and an Indian man. The man in the widely shared video excitedly takes a picture with Ms Gomez before requesting something unusual: say "Jai Shri Ram."
The man tries to explain when Ms Gomez seems perplexed, adding "India's best slogan - Jai Shri Ram." But the 32-year-old Gomez simply replies, "Aww, thank you, honey," in a kind dismissive manner.

Pallav Paliwal, an Instagram user, was the first to share the video, and it quickly went viral on social media.
Mr Paliwal captioned it, "One of our followers met Selena Gomez and she said 'Jai Shri Ram' on the occasion of Diwali."
He said in his post that the conversation took place on Diwali. However, observant watchers have recognised Gomez's outfit from the May 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
Many individuals have expressed their discomfort and irritation in response to this strange request, which has generated heated reactions online.
