Saturn visible to naked eye: The Astrophiles are excited as a ‘save the date’ worthy event is ahead on the calendar for them. Saturn will be reportedly visible to the naked eye on the nights of August 26 and 27, and space lovers are over the moon to watch the ringed planet pass by. The phenomenon will take place due to the positions of the planets and the Sun. The Earth will be in the middle of the Sun and Saturn, due to which the giant planet will be 65 million km closer to the Earth in comparison to its normal distance. The phenomenon is called the Opposition of Saturn and the planet will be visible on the southeastern horizon. A video explaining the phenomenon surfaced online and went viral as people are eagerly waiting for the cosmic event.

The video was shared on the Instagram handle ‘The Secrets Of The Universe’. The post was captioned, “Saturn to make its closest approach to Earth!”
