In an incident that raised countless questions on action against animal cruelty, a car ran over a street dog in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad. A video of the same was shared on the internet and instantly went viral. What further triggered the netizens was that the canine was doing nothing but quietly sleeping on the side of the road. The date of the incident is not yet confirmed, however, the incident reportedly took place near Sahibabad’s M4U Cinema. Going out of the way, the driver deliberately crushed the furry victim twice, as it drove over the dog for the second time while reversing the vehicle. Apart it being a heartless crime, the incident also received condemnation over the lack of actions over cruelty against the dog.

The video was shared on the social media site X (formerly Twitter) by the handle ‘lavelybakshi’. The post was captioned in Hindi which roughly translated to, “In Ghaziabad, a car driver crushed a dog lying on the road, the incident was captured in CCTV, the car driver absconded.”

The video is widely doing rounds on social media and left most netizens irked. Many animal lovers were also triggered by the incident and called people 'hypocrites’ for not reacting to the cruelty against an animal as they compared it with major reactions over dog-biting-related incidents by the society. The video was shared yesterday and has been viewed by thousands of viewers. Taking to the comment section, people shared their views. “Such people don’t even deserve a place in hell,” a user said. “These people would have created such a fuss if it had been a dog-biting incident,” added a second person.
